L’intrigante “The Reunion” di Anna Odell al 33° Istanbul International Film Festival
Nella presentazione di Mariangiola Castrovilli, in collegamento video dalla Turchia, un film curioso e particolare, in competizione internazionale all’Istanbul Film Festival, “The Reunion” (Atertraffen) della regista svedese Anna Odell. Ai confini tra finzione e realtà la conosciutissima artista svedese non invitata ad una riunione tra studenti di quando era ragazza realizza un film dove invece accade il contrario. Qui gli attori interpretano i suoi compagni di classe e la Odell, giocando con se stessa, su un doppio binario in bilico tra vissuto e sogno, si reca dai suoi amici di un tempo per mostrare loro il film al fine di provocare ed osservare le loro reazioni che però travalicano ogni ipotizzabile limite.
«I think» afferma Anna Odell «that our experiences from school affect us enormously and that we are shaped by and influence each other throughout life. This also means that we can change and recover from bad experiences by coming into new contexts where we are able to take part. I have wanted to work with the subject of bullying for many years. Throughout elementary school I was bullied and so I wanted to use my experiences in some way to, among other things, research the relationships within a group following changes in the hierarchy.»
