ED UN GABBIANO IN GARA CON IL BARRACUDA
NEL POMERIGGIO CONFERENZE DI MICARELLI E SPINETTI

Alle 9 eravamo in mare, ma una persistente nebbiolina ci ha impedito di vedere bene il comportamento degli animali.
Le osservazioni sono state limitate dalla scarsa visibilità (circa 1,5m), con gli squali che parevano sbucare dal nulla, all’improvviso, fuori dall’acqua.
Ad ogni modo anche oggi abbiamo ricevuto la piacevole visita di quattro nuovi esemplari, dei quali è stato possibile osservare i comportamenti predatori e qualche comportamento sociale.
L’uscita in mare è stata accompagnata dall’apparizione di uno sconfinato stormo di cormorani del capo, mentre un giovane gabbiano faceva a gara con la nostra barca (il Barracuda) durante il rientro.
La giornata si è comunque conclusa con gli approfondimenti del Dott. Primo Micarelli sulla paleontologia e la filogenesi degli squali e con un approfondimento sulla biologia riproduttiva e non, tenuta da Sara Spinetti.

*In the afternoon Micarelli and Spinetti conferred on sharks palaeontology and
phylogenesis. Reproductive Biology.
The observations were restricted because of the to inadequate visibility (1,5 meters), the sharks appeared suddenly out of water. Anyway even today we appreciated the encounters of 4 exemplars that gave us the opportunity to observe the behaviour of those predators as well as some of their social behaviour.
The excursion was characterized by a an endless cormorants flock meanwhile a young gull was racing with Barracuda (our boat) during the way back.
Bureaucracy doesn’t have boundaries, the afternoon was almost spent waiting a special permission, not yet arrived, that let us to dive together with the sea-lions in the protected area along the coast of Dyler Island.
The day has gone with Micarelli and Spinetti conferring on sharks palaeontology and phylogenesis and with a symposium on Reproductive Biology held by Sara Spinetti.
Today little but concrete steps, many debating opportunities, it appeared a dead time but in fact it was a forge of ideas that makes the horizon of research boundless.
