Meanwhile, from Terzo d’Aquileia (Udine), a special salute to Primo Micarelli’s team

While the components of VIII Expedition are traveling to Rome (the first to arrive at Fiumicino is, apparently, the official camera operator Daniele Giglioli) we learn that last night at Terzo d’Aquileia, in the province of Udine, a conference was held in honor of the study team and the work done in recent years by the “boys” of Prof. First Micarelli. The contribution that we propose isby Rodolfo Cianchi (component of VI expedition, 2009), that tirelessly, especially in the Friuli Venezia Giulia, also organizes meetings with schools, as part of an awareness campaign on the preservation of sharks and oceans.

(Rodolfo Cianchi) – «With this brief speech in a special way I greet the friends of the eighth expedition that will start today. In their honor was given a report at the town of Terzo d’Aquileia titled “Footsteps of the great white shark” in tribute to the guys who are leaving and the work done in all these years.

This report was held in front of the associations ASNAT, F.I.P.S.A.S. Italian federation of fishing and diving, AGSDL Association and Club Lagoon amateur group of amateur fishermen LA FORTEZZA, in order to understand the importance of these beautiful animals that are often demonized for no reason and to understand the important results achieved by the expedition in these years of research in South Africa .

Is important to note that since my last expedition to South Africa the schools project, carried out by me with the help of prof. Micarelli, is producing excellent results. Were already involved five schools here in Friuli Venezia Giulia and I plan to be able to visit others, bringing our message to young people, because I am convinced that we can definitely do something good sensitizing the younger generation to the respect for the oceans.

I don’t want to take much space in these pages that will surely treat topics in this expedition much more important. I renew my “good luck” to the eighth expedition and it is useless to say how I would be at their side immersed in this fantastic experience that will remain in their hearts as it has remained rooted in mine.
